Heater problem
1993 Pontiac Bonneville 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive 171000 miles

As the engine warms up. I start to smell antifreeze coming though the heater. I can smell it outside but when the car reaches temp the smell disappears. I haven't seen any leaks or contamination of the oil. Can you tell me what could be causing this?

Thanks

Hi:
If you smell it in the vents, it is most likely the heater core. Do you ever get a fogging on the windshield that is hard to defrost?

They're no fogging. Like I said there's an antifreeze smell. But once the car warms up that goes away. The heater core does sound like a probable problem.

Thanks.
