Po016 code, any suggestions? Can this be caused by changing the timing belt?

Good evening,

Yep, it can. The code is for cam/crank correlation which means it sees a miss-alignment of the belt.

I would verify the timing marks and reset it correctly. then the code should go away.

The light goes out sometime by it self only to reappear later. Doesn't make since. If the timing was off wouldn't it stay on?

You are throwing parts at it without confirming any failures.

I would back up and start with the timing belt and verify the marks. You are most likely going to find it is off by one or more teeth.

The belt was off one tooth. It runs good with no check engine light.
Thanks
