torque converter sounded like it was rattling

I just put in a new transmission and torque converter and after doing all of the first time start up procedures the torque converter sounded like it was rattling and the transmission was slipping i made sure the fluid level was correct and the torque converter was tight and it still did the same thing any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Two things come to mind. First the rattling may be a cracked flywheel. The welds break on these, more common than most vehicles. This can give a drivability problem as well, maybe the one your having?

Second the transmission takes ATF + 4, and will slip wiithout it. A modifier can be added to correct this.
