Thankyou for your help, I have everything unhooked for the generator to come out, but I can't get the black mounting bracket off! I took three bolts off that are on the front of the engine, but I can't seem to slide the bracket out. It is inbetween the tensioner pullie bracket and the block. Is there another bolt that I am missing that is on the inside "firewall" side of the engine? I can't find anything and have tried prying at it to get it out.

I'm afraid there is no tech info on how to remove the housing so it must be a fairly simple procedure ..a case of undoing a few screws/nuts i would think the best picture i have got is this .. hope this helps

No you only need to get the cover around top of firewall out of the way. Then the altenator will come out. Like I said earlier it must only screw/bolt on because the books just say. Remove wiper shield cover.
