My AC compressor does not work, and I would like to replace my current serpentine belt with a belt that does NOT include the AC. I had a friend tell me I would need special pullys and such, but the pic under the hood suggest that an optional belt can be bought that bypasses the AC. Question: can I just get a new belt and tell them I have 'NO' AC (to get the bypass belt), and will that work without additional items?

They sell belt's for your van without a/c but i'm not sure if those belt's will work for sure. You can get a bypass pulley for 28 plus shipping I found one for and you would use the same belt you used with the a/c compressor. So did your a/c compressor freeze up?Or your a/c clutch bearing go bad?

The a/c compressor clutch is fine, it turns freely. There are other issues with the a/c under the dash that keep it from working.
The resaon I want to bypass is because the last time it was in the shop for the a/c prob, something got mis-aligned with the a/c pully, and I have shredded 2 belts after about 200 miles each. I would just like to take the least expensive route, and bypass the a/c pully if possible, without buying additional pullys.

I would try this not for sure if it will work but don't see why it wouldn't go and get a belt for your van that doesn't have a/c and put it on. At this point you don't have much to loose.
