1998 Plymouth Voyager Ya confused

The van drives just fine everything works but when I turn the air conditioner on it will not change gears. It will only drive in 2st and 1st. When the air is turned off it switches gears just fine. I called the dealership they said it was in diagnostic's mode I need to know how to get it out of diagnostic's mode. Please help me soon.
