Transmission problem
1998 Plymouth Voyager Front Wheel Drive Automatic

What all would cause our vans transmission to slip? It runs great, but when we drive it for more than 5 minutes or until the engine is heated up, it slips. It makes a whining sound. What all could be Wrong with it?

Have you checked the fluid level? Which engine do you have? Do you have the three speed or four speed overdrive transmission? The overdrive unit has a big "O" around the letter "D" on the gear indicator in the instrument cluster.
