LOW FUEL SENSOR, fuel pump replacement

The low fuel light keeps coming on and going right back off. There is plenty of gas in the van and it only stays on for a split second. The dinging is the most annoying part. I checked with my normal mechanic and he said it is actually in the gas tank and it will be $100.00 alone to drop the gas tank and another $150.00 or higher to replace this part. My question is, is there a fuse to just disable the indicator from coming on in the car. Will this affect any other car functions?

Unfortunately this is not a fuse issue. This will require a fuel pump to be removed and I would just replace it since it is out.
