The reason you notice the leak after the car is shut down is because for a short period of time, the engine is still at normal operating temp and when you shut the engine, the coolant lays in the engine block and gets hotter which builds pressure even higher.

What I need you to do is place a piece of cardboard under the vehicle when you park it. THen let me know aprox where it is leaking from. If I had to guess, I would say it will be on the passanger side.

Let me know. Also, as far as the speedo, you may have a vehicle speed sensor going bad. Has the check engine light come on?
