what could cause it from getiing any sparks from the distributor

there are 101 reasons you may not be getting a spark .. crank sensor/coil etc. etc even the immoboliser cuts the spark .. is your MIL on ?? if you have a light flashing/constantly on, on the dash display then you have a fault code showing ..you willl have to have the PCM read to get the code which will tell you where the fault lies ?
