Hi I have a 1996 Plymouth voyager and when I start the car everything is OK but when I accelerate and start to drive off the car starts to make a grinding sound and wont move for couple sec. And when it picks up speed after that grind I wont hear it again. It sounds and feels like a chain or gear is out of place then it stops making the noise when its popped back in place it seems. Any answer to my problem? Sometimes when I turn a corner it starts to shake like there is a loose piece somewhere.

Open the hood and have a helper start the car and, with foot on the brake, shift through the gears as you stand to the side and observe the engine. If it torques more than slightly, have your motor/transmission mounts replaced. You can inspect one easily, a small square attached to the back of the front bumper rail. There are two others. They use rubber to absorb vibrations and shock. The rubber gets worn out and/or breaks over time.
