Transmission problem
1996 Plymouth Voyager 4 cyl Automatic 140000 miles

when i start my van it makes a winning noise and it wont move but if i shut it off start it in reverse it will go or if i start it in drive it goes a lil bit then stops either way it wines real loud when i tr to move it can u help me plz

Is the noise coming from the trans? Also, even though it makes the noise, will it go? Is the trans fluid full? Is the power steering pump full?

Finally, the car shouldn't start in reverse or drive.
