1995 Plymouth Voyager broken master cylinder

1995 Plymouth Voyager 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

while squeezing caliper in to install new brake pads the resivouir for the master cylinder exploded. I never heard of this before what would cause this?

Hello,

If you didn't remove the cap and pushed the pistons back in the pressure along with the age could cause it to explode.
