I don't get a spark from the coil. I've replaced the coil and still no spark. Is there a relay that feeds the coil?

Hi:
There is an ignition relay. However, are you getting power to the coil?

I pulled the distributor and it wasn't turning as I tried to start it. I think the timing belt broke.

Hi:
When you crank the engine, does it sound normal or does it sound like you may have a cylender or two without compression?

It sounded normal. It was turning over very smoothly. This is why I didn't suspect the timing belt initially.

Hi:
I just reviewed all of our postings. If the distributor isn't turning, you won't get spark to the plugs. Have you removed the dist to check for damage or the drive assembly for the dist?

In a way I feel bad it's the belt, but now at least we know for sure it's the belt. I am surprised it sounded normal when you cranked it. Usually several valves are open and there will be no compression in those cylenders when you crank the engine.
If you have any other questions, let me know. Also, go to drive belt routing diagrams on this page if you need to see timing marks or anything dealing with routing.
