1988 Plymouth Reliant 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

i have a 88 reliant 2.5 i have no spark from the coil yet the coil tests good.i have 12v on the neg side of the coil and ground on the pos.when i hook both the wires to the coil i grt nothing. please help

Help me understand... you have 12 volts from the neg side and ground on the positive?
