I have a 97 Plymouth Neon and lately (past 2-3 weeks) the car seems to be less responsive. I first noticed it when I was driving at highway speeds then slowing down to take an exit and speeding up again going up hill. When accelerating up the hill, the car will kind of studded some. It will not die or anything like that, but will act like it might die for a second or 2. I have also noticed this when I am stopped and I hit the gas to accelerate. It will act like it is going to die, and kind of studded a second, and then it catches and goes fine. I was thinking Fuel Injectors, or possibly spark plugs? But I know very little.
Thank you!

Hi:
If the check engine light is not on, try some basic things to see if it will help. Run a quality fuel injector throught the system. If that doesn't work, check the air filter. If it's ok, maybe a tune-up would be a good idea.

Let me know what happens with these ideas so I can better help you.
