1996 Other Plymouth Models 83,000 miles
Several months ago my Neon began having trouble with the speedometer. It will suddenly stop working and drop to zero. This will continue for anywhere from a couple of minutes to a couple of hours and then it will spontaneously start working again. Less frequently, the fuel gauge and tachometer will go out as well. In the beginning, it seemed to be at least temporarily resolved by thumping the top of the dash, but that hasn't been working as of late. Putting pressure on the clear plastic front would also work, but as soon as the pressure was removed, it would drop back to zero. Any ideas what's going on?
