1995 Car Will Not Stay running.

Engine Performance problem
1995 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

My daughters 1995 Plymouth Neon. Just suddenly died while driving out on the highway. The car would start but sounded like it was starving for fuel. Released gas cap to check for vapor lock. Car will start but not stay running. When it does start it chugs and sounds very irregular. When engine is running rpm will not go up and the car will not go, but it will stay running just as long as its in neutral.
