I just got 1992 laser 1.8 engine, 135,000 miles, automatic. Owner said car has sat for 8 months ( tranny problems ) and just went to start and would turn over, but not start. Now I have, I tried testing plug wire for spark, turns over but no spark when grounded plug wire. Where to start for problem - distributor? (Coil distributor are one I am told), how to test and find where no spark problem is starting? *** Just to let you know, I DO believe in donations. Do wish to see if this help site is what I can use, I have few project cars ( new one all the time ) and if this site is helpfull I will not hesitate to doneate often. Thank you Bill W.

Bill:
You need to check to see if you are getting power to the coil first. If not, then it is a matter of either a computer problem or wiring.

Let me know what you find.
