I have on the back of my fuel gauge 3 connects.
First one labeled "A" second is "I" and third is "S". I want to wire it up so I won't have to keep fueling when not necessary.

obviously your gauge doesn't work. See if there is power going to the fuel sender. If there is -it should be a blinking light and when you put your tester on it your gugage should start to rise- replace the sender instead of screwing your wires up and causeing other problems.
