Electrical problem
1995 Plymouth Neon Four Wheel Drive Automatic 145000 miles

I have a 95 neon. the starter was just replaced last year and it was brand new. Now, when i try to start my car there is a clicking noise but won't start. I hit the starter and it began to start, eventually that stopped working. I put some pliers on the starter and started the car at the same time and then the car started. Today, there's a clicking noise when i try to start it but still no turn over. At night, i can see a spark as it is being turned. What could be the problem?

Suspect faulty starter solenoid, remove the starter and have it tested. If starter is ok then need to inspect the ignition switch.

The sparking is an excellent clue as to where the problem is. Would you like to share that information to make the diagnosis easier?
