1997 Plymouth Breeze alternator not charging

i have a 97 plymouth breeze and i put another motor in it and when i got done putting it and stuff i went to start it and the battery light came on so i thought i was from disconnecting the battery and all but it wasnt so i took the alternator out and put another one in and it still did the same. so is there anyway i would jump wires from the alternator to make it charge thanks

check fuse s
check the wires at the back of the alternator

should have battery volts at the big one
