Air Conditioning system

I have a Plymouth Acclaim "91. 100,000 miles and I think it's a 3 cylinder. Anyways The air conditioning system works good, nice cold air, but after it runs awhile It will make this loud squealing noice then then noice stops but it starts again after a little while longer. What do you think the problem could be?

It could be a belt, I am not sure if its the same belt as power steering but generally squealing noises mean a belt.
