1994 Plymouth Acclaim starting problems

we had battery checked and suggested cleaning terminals...cleaned ....car started ....set for a few hours...nothing, not even guages...wiggled pos and neg cables...guages came on and put on cables took 5 mins and started no problem....definitely not battery but thought maybe pos or more likely neg cable...what do you suggest

You might as well just replace the cables or do a voltage drop test on the cables to find out where that high resistance is.
