1994 Plymouth Acclaim Hood won't lock

The hood will not lock.The saftey catch works but not the locking mechanism.

Hi:

Make sure the hood release cable is not damaged and is pushed in the entire way. If the cable is working properly and you've lubericated the latch mechanism I would suggest replaceing the latch assembly. I believe ther are only two bolts holding it on, and the cable is easily removed.
