Hi, I own a 1993 acclaim and was wondering what might be the cause of the engine overheating. We've changed the thermostat and the radiator but havent continued on to the water pump ot head gasket. The coolant is bubbling in the radiator and reserve tank and im not sure which one to tackle first ,the head gasket or water pump?

Hi:

Have you checked the ignition timing? Also, is the coolant boiling causing it to bubble in the radiator, or is it foamy? Also, have you checked for oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil? If not, are there any visible coolant leaks around the heads?

And Finally, (and the cheapest repair) Keep an eye on the radiator hoses, especially the lower one. Make sure it isn't collapsing when the car is hot and restricting the coolant flow.

Let me know what you find.
