runs rough while cold and idles I did the key on/off ,on/off,on but donot know what the codes mean

If it's making black smoke from the exhaust, it's running rich (too much fuel). If you're not sure how to read the codes, I suggest taking it to an Auto Zone or other nationally recognized auto parts store. They will check the codes for free. If you get no satisfaction, let me know and we'll try to work through it together. However, it may be hard over the net.
