Plus and minus on 350z auto transmission

i have a nissan 350z 2006 , it has the plus and minus section. i heard this is called semi auto . a friend told me i can use it as a manual . how do i use this ? i really really wanna learn to get the feel manual.

Yes, you can manually select gears. "-" moves down one gear and "+" moves up one gear. Just be careful you don't over-rev it.
