Will app5144 Autolite double Platinum work on my pick up? And what is plug gap?

They would work fine as they are the OE plug design, the plug gap is.061" but most platinum plugs come preset to the latest number which is.054" They get torqued to 13 ft. Lb. To verify the plug gap you can also look at the sticker that shows the emission information under the hood, however as I said many double platinum plugs are pre gapped.

I have a set of Autolite APP5144 DBL Platinum plugs. It looks like I'll have to reset gap. Is there a special gap tool or should leave them be?

Good morning,
The double Platinum's do not require gapping at all.
The proper gap is below for you for the correct plugs for the engine.
1.57 - 1.73 mm (0.061 - 0.068 in)

Check the gap on those plugs you have and you will find they are gapped at.054". That is the current specification for them and they don't need to be reset.
