I believe the transmission is going into gear but it won't move. I'm taking it in the head a computer hooked up to it and it kicked out different codes one being for the ECU. Before it wouldn't engage it all it didn't always want to go into second gear. That lasted a couple days. Now it won't go into gear at all. I don't know what to do. Please help

Good morning,

Can you list the codes for me to see?

I would start by changing the fluid and filter. If you have a clogged filter, it will not engage.

Okay, I would start by changing the fluid and filter and see if it goes into gear.

That is why I needed the codes. They should never have cleared them. Clearing does nothing. Without that information, we are taking shots in the dark.

I don't think they cleared the codes. I just misplaced the copy they give me but I do remember there was a ECU code.

Is the light still on?

If it is then go back and have them check again for the codes.

See if someone you know has a simple code reader you can borrow.

That will at least get the codes so I can check on them.

I attached the procedure for changing the fluid for you below. It is a little involved but follow the instructions and you can do it yourself.

I also attached the amount of fluid required when you change it and the flow chart for no moving in any gear.
