My security light is stuck on along with the reduce engine power light. I bought the car, it ran fine. I turned it off and when I went to restart the car those lights came on and the car shut off on me on a main road. I was able to finally get it home after someone pushed me from behind but I had no power and barely got it home. I'm a disabled, single mom. I feel like I've been scammed. AutoZone can't pull any codes. I'm at a lost. Please help.

Hello,

The vehicle can go to the low power mode when it there is an issue with the engine management system.
The most common reason for a lower power mode to be triggered is a dirty throttle actuator.
Inspect the actuator and clean if necessary. Typically cleaning it out will fix the issue.

You mentioned that AutoZone cannot pull any codes. However is your check engine light on?

Here is a guide of how to clean the actuator:

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.

The butterfly part seems to have a crack in it. Does it need a new one? Or will this one still work?
