I was replacing the fog bulbs on my vehicle listed above and when I came to the driver side, I found a black reservoir right behind the fog light and situated against the mud guard. It looks like the boot(?) was detached or ripped off and it's filled with regular water (due to the rain). Is this an important function I need to get replaced?

Hi,

On the left side, there is a coolant reservoir and degas bottle. I attached a pic below. Does it appear to be one of these?

Sorry, it's really hard for me to tell by the pics. For example, is that looking straight up or are you taking that pic from the side?

Let me know.

Joe

Hello, the images I uploaded are from the driver's side taken through the side the front wheel well.

It's definitely none of the coolant reservoir as those are on the top passenger side and none of the hoses run through this particular one. It is located under the 12v battery on the driver side (below where the headlight harness is and right in front of the fog light is located. There's no coolant running into or out of it but filled a quarter of the way with just water.

Hi,

I wonder if it is the actual battery box. Take a look at the pic below and let me know if you see it.

The battery box isn't flat, and I have a feeling this could be what you are seeing.

Let me know.
