I am driving a Isuzu 4JB1 KB280 1996 model. During 2017 I replaced the 2.8 engine with 4JH1(3.0) engine. I'm busy rebuilding the 4JH1 engine and wants to know something regarding the pistons and liners. The standard piston bore size is 95.4mm. Which size liner must I use to fit the piston without honing the liner to piston size?

Unfortunately, we don't have a manual on this vehicle as it is not offered in the USA, so we don't have the spec on this engine. However, in general terms the way to determine what size sleeve you are going to use is to determine the spec on the piston to cylinder wall clearance. It is normally a range that spans a few ten thousands of an inch. Then you add that to piston diameter and find a sleeve that fits in that range.

However, if you are going to do this, you need to remove the sleeve that is in the engine already. If the engine is does not have a sleeve you are going to have to bore the cylinders to open them up so that the sleeve will fit.

Hopefully this information helps but sorry we don't have specifics for your engine.
