pinging noise only when accelerating. noise is not noticed during start up or idle. noise only when accelerating. oil is changed every 5000 miles with synthetic oil. there is no loss of power or hesitation with the engine. once engine gets to desired speed pinging noise fades away.

Have always used 91 octane or higher. I did move from florida lower elevation to phoenix higher elevation. did not drive car here i towed it so i thought maybe it was an adjustment to the valves that may need to be done. any thoughts.

i understand but octane is the primary reason for this. no valve adjustment will cause pinging.
