2005 Peugeot 407 Cooling Fan

The cooling fan is coming on at strange times even if I have done 2 miles and the engine is not warmed up. When it comes on its flatening the battery. Can I remove the fuse for the fan or can you surgest what the remedy could be.

start by replacing the coolant temp sensor .. it may be faulty !
