2005 Peugeot 407 Manual

Hi,

I was wondering if you could help me with my query. A couple of days ago I bought a Peugeot 407 and later on I noticed that the Air Bag warning light comes on whenever I start the engine. It also come up on the car computer as a fault with a message: Seat belt or air bag fault. Can you tell what is wrong with it and if it is difficult to fix? The car has just passed MOT, so I'm hoping it's nothing serious.

You will need to get the PCM scanned for the air bag codes.A faulty seatbelt switch can cause this problem, but the code should tell exactly what the problem is

let me make sure I understand your position,YOU "A couple of days ago I bought a Peugeot 407 and later on I noticed that the Air Bag warning light comes on" so you're telling me that you did not notice that the air bag light was on when you purchase the vehicle? if that is the case, you've probably purchased a vehicle that had been wracked in the front, and patched up, Jack is right, you need to go download the codes to make sure it is not a bumper sensor or a seat belt problem, or somebody ran into your car in the parking lot.
