2003 Peugeot 406 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive 115000 miles

my peugoet 406 wont start it just makes awizzing noise and then comes to an abrupt stop its a 2.0 hdi 90 bhp 2003 on a 53 plate

check the timing belt condition .. check the starter motor
