2002 Peugeot 307 Two Wheel Drive Manual 77,000 miles

Hi,

Got 307 1.4 2002 hdi, and noticed lately my steering wheel makes wot i call s apring ping noise when stationary turning the wheel and slowly turning corners? bit worrying because i dont know what it might be??
