1999 Peugeot 206 Front Wheel Drive Manual 91000 miles

the speedo meter does not work on my car, i took it to the garage and they put a speed sensor on it, this did not work i then replaced the clock, this did not work, what could be wrong with it? Also the reverse lights are not working, i replaced the bulbs and they do not work with new bulbs

check the wiring to both the VSS (speed sensor) and the reverse light switch both located on the gearbox
