My van keeps blowing the fuse for the ECM after running for about 15 seconds. And when it is running for a longer period of time the battery drains. I have replaced bothering the battery and alternator. But I can not find the PCM location. Please help!!

Please see the attached for the location of the PCM. You may be correct that this is the ECM but it could also be some of the other items on this fuse. Can you tell me which specific fuse this was that is blowing so that we can run through some other components that could be causing this.

However, if the PCM fixes it, please let us know. Thanks

I was in an accident two months ago in my van SXT model. Damage was moderate front drivers side. Having some fault codes P0700 and P0888. The mechanic that fixed the other issues does not have the knowledge needed to troubleshoot issue. The right two of the connectors from PCM were replaced due damage from the impact. From what I was told some rewiring had to be repaired due to the accident. I suspect the issue is wiring or a faulty connection of some type to PCM. Would the PCM fail completely or is my problem due to the rewiring that was done that is causing my codes? I am having a really hard time finding the correct wiring diagrams needed to try to do the proper troubleshooting. Please let me know if you have the proper wiring diagrams so I can get a local knowledgeable mechanic to get this resolved.

Good evening.

I attached the connector diagram for you to view. I would resolve this first before going on to the codes. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what happens.

Hey AAANGELL6,

The PCM is located by the battery under the hood, here is a diagram along with the wiring so you can get the problem fixed.

PCMs feed from multiple fuses and relays. You need to test every fuse using a test light.

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

where is the pcm located on the 2002 dodge caravan. My pcm is bad and dealer suggests getting remanufactured part from someone other than them to save money due to age and milage. Can get one offline but have to pull myself and replace with part. Need to send my part back in for warranty.

My Van would start and then die - like it had a vapor lock. I discovered that if I disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, the computer would reset and the van would start. Finally, it got to the point that wouldn't work any more. Had it towed to the shop 3 times. Each time they said it was electrial ... replaced the battery connectors, then the connector wires, a new battery and today he won't start at all! I've been told it is probably the main computer. Where is this main computer located at?

The pcm is driver side, under the hood, close to the power distribution center. The info I looked at was for a 3.0 litre engine.
