My PCM is bad so I got one from a junk yard with a key and drivers side door lock. My car is a 2002 and the PCM from junk yard is 2004. Do I need to get a 2002 PCM and have it programmed to my original key? And will the 2004 PCM even work on my car? My car has to be started by the relay under the hood and it will not stay on it shuts off.

Good morning.

You need to match the number exactly on your old PCM to the replacement. Then you will need either a dealer or locksmith to program the key and the PCM to the car to get it running.

The important part is to be sure you have the exact part number for the replacement.

A locksmith can come to you for the programming. Otherwise you would have to have it towed to the dealer for the programming which will be expensive.
