Passenger Window Repair?

My passenger door window stopped working. At first the window wouldn't go up, only down. When it reached the down position, it wouldn't move at all. The motor was still sounding, but there was a crunching/grinding noise when the power button was engaged. I assumed this was a bad regulator. I found your video*, bought a new part, and started disassembling the door.

When I tried lifting the window with my hands to expose the bolts on the regulator to loosen, the window sticks after lifting about an inch and will not budge. I looked down from the top of the door and through the holes in the door frame and I did not see any obstruction. I am wondering if you have any suggestions on how to move forward.

I am assuming the bolts that hold the window to the regulator are still on and you are trying to move the window to get to them? If so, you may need to cut the cable of the old regulator to get enough slack to move the window. This might take a little doing to achieve. This is the video is question for clarification:
