The rear brake sticks to the point where it's hard to turn manually. The rotor and hub gets too hot to touch. I have retracted the caliber piston and with the emergency brake off I pump the brake. The brake still sticks. Do I need to replace the brake caliber?

Could be the caliper, could be the flex brake hose, could be frozen slides.
When it's frozen try opening the bleeder and see if it releases. If so, replace the flex hose.

Are you sure the brake cable is releasing correctly?

I think so. If I rember correctly, the brake cable is a little loose at the caliber when the brake is off. I will double check that when I can. I am currently recovering from surgery and haven't been able to test any of the suggestions. As soon as I can, I will post my results. Thanks.

I replaced the entire brake caliber and the problem went away.
