Truck is a Canadian model that I bought used. Went to hunting camp and tried to use parking lamps only to drive into hunting spot. Due to the fact that this is a Canadian truck, the parking lamps only function does not work. Is there a fix or a work around for this? I live in Michigan.

Hello, I'm Danny.

First thing you should check is the parking lamp fuse. One is for the left side the other is for right side. Here is a tutorial on how to check and replace fuses:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-a-car-fuse

I've attached a picture below showing its location in the under hood fuse box. The fuses are in the micro blade locations number 28 and 29 And I circled in red. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Thanks Danny. My parking lamps work fine, it's just when I turn the headlight knob to the parking lamps only position the headlamps won't go off. I was trying to just use parking lamps to get go my hunting spot.

Good morning,

The body control module controls the operation of the lights. If your Canadian model does not allow just parking lights, you will need to go to a GM dealer and have them program the BCM for the lights to work on there own as they do in the USA.

Thank you Roy! That was what I was thinking that I would have to have the BCM reprogramed.

Hello again.

Not sure what area you live but I'm in Southern California and my local Chevrolet dealer charges $137.00 to reflash the BCM. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.
