Parking/Emergency Brake Light Flashing?

My Parking/Emergency Brake Light started flashing about a week ago. It does 1 long flash followed by 3 short flashes (or vice versa). What could the issue be?

It sounds to me like the vehicle thinks the parking brake is applied and will flash when you are driving. Make sure the parking brake is fully released by pulling up on the pedal while pulling the parking brake release.
If this doesn't resolve it, then it's probably the switch in the parking brake pedal area that is stuck on.
