Code P2185, coolant sensor?

I watched temperature and it's still in the middle. Coolant shows 21.7 c on the scanner though which doesn't seem right. Where is the sensor and would you suggest a malfunctioning sensor based on this? This is the 1.8l motor.

Hi,

There are two coolant temperature sensors on this vehicle. One is on the cylinder head and the other is on the radiator. See pic 1 below.

The code you have is related to the one on the radiator. Keep in mind, the sensor on the cylinder head provides the information needed for the gauge. The one on the radiator is related to the cooling fans.

I attached the diagnostics below. Take a look through them and let me know if you are comfortable performing them.

Fully warm.

Also, since starting the car the temperature symbol is on all the time.

Coolant fan came on at 104c. Symbol still on. The reservoir is not full, maybe that's why. I'll fill it when it's cold.

Yep, if the coolant is low it will have this light on.
