Car has cold air intake filter. Not sure if this is related, but this code came out of no where, idle is fine and no symptoms.

Hi,

The code may be a result of the intake, but it is not likely. The code is specific to the intake runner sensor. An intake runner is a component of the intake manifold.

The intake manifold has a series of passages or "runners" that distribute air from the throttle body to each of the engine's cylinders. These runners are designed to optimize the flow of air into the cylinders.

The intake runner sensor is likely the cause in this case simply because you indicated it is running properly. If there was an issue with one of the runners, there would be drivability issues. See pic 1 below for sensor location.

Additionally, I attached the diagnostics for you related to the code/sensor. Take a look through them and let me know if you are comfortable performing them.

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

I'm not sure if you have a scan tool that can delete this code. I attached the directions below for deleting it. Take a look at them and let me know if you are able to do it with your scanner.

I have several good scanners that can delete codes. What I am asking you is: when I delete it with ignition on it does not go away. What does that say? Without even starting the car.

Hi,

The idea that it won't delete, according to the manual, is because it needs to be deleted via mode 4. If you are able to access that, then the problem is likely not resolved. However, for the light to reset usually requires running the engine.

Are you accessing it per the instructions above?
