The car shifts fine sometimes but other times it shifts hard and then jerks a little bit. A mechanic said my transmission is going out, so I have no clue. Anything helps? thank you.

1811 means long shifts between gears. have a transmission professional look at this as it may be low line pressure or sticky valve body. if it continues it will need a rebuild.
