Was at stop light and O/D light started flashing on and off and check eng light came on. Managed to get car home with some serious shifting problems and no reverse at all. Read Code and only have the one P1700 code which is a failed to neutral code. Never had any shift or slip problems prior. I have turned a few wrenches in my life so don't have a problem rebuilding anything. Would this be a shift valve problem, speed sensor or is the transmission just gone?

Would it be cheaper to rebuild this tranny with that problem or buy a rebuilt at 1600 to 1800

What ever you can afford a rebuilt would come with a warranty and they would probably install plus a rebuilt may be updated
