Giving code p1494, but there is no LDP under my driver side headlight. Where else could it be?

The DLP is under the plastic cover under the head light, you will see if if you remove the air filter.

There is nothing there. I can fit my whole hand in there and feel the metal frame and there is nothing.

Are you referring to a leak detection pump?
I show it located under the left quarter panel behind the left/rear wheel, shown here.

Well this makes me hopeful again. I will check there.
In the event that I need to replace it, what will I need to disassemble to get to it? Something tells me it will not be easy.

I read that it is held on with plastic rivets.
Remove the vacuum hose from the top of the vent valve (Fig 1 ). Attach a hand vacuum pump to the vent valve and apply 20" Hg. Vacuum. Observe the vacuum for ten seconds. If the vacuum drops below 15.5" Hg. Obtain the appropriate LDP vent valve using the Mopar parts catalog.
